Nevada is a Right to Work state; therefore, you are not required to join a union. In fact, there are approximately 1 million educators who do not belong to a union. Nearly half belong to independent, non-union teacher organizations like AAE. At least 5,000 full-time teachers in Clark County do not belong to the CCEA.
-
If you are a member of the CCEA/NSEA, you can voluntarily drop your membership during the official drop period, which is every July 1-15. Here is information about how to drop your CCEA/ NSEA/ NEA membership for Nevada teachers.
-
Even if you are a member of another organization, like the CCEA, you can join PACCE at any time. You will then have extra liability coverage.
-
PACCE membership is open year round.
-
You have the right to discuss PACCE with coworkers during non-work times, defined as break time, lunch period, before work, and while in transition to and from work stations.
